About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work cross-functionally with leadership and fellow designers within Digital Product Design to establish and codify the look and feel of Ford and Lincoln digital experiences in-vehicle and beyond
- Define, create, and guide visual and motion design standards, including visual design guidelines and standards for Digital Product Design
- Problem-solve alongside UX designers to deliver high-quality, on-brand digital experiences
- Lead development of exemplar visual design work products
- Work with design teams to improve presentation and prototyping through visual and motion execution
- Work with engineering teams to guide visual design execution toward the highest standard and consistency
- Participate in design reviews and provide guidance and constructive feedback
- Manage communication with internal colleagues and stakeholders
- Use consumer research, benchmarking, and automotive knowledge to inform evolution of the visual design language
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, UI/UX design, digital product design or related field, or a combination of education and equivalent experience
- Strong visual design skills and experience building/extending complex digital design languages
- Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual design skills for digital products
- Strong understanding of layout, hierarchy, typography, color theory, and iconography within interactive contexts
- 6+ years of dedicated experience in Visual UI/UX design for complex digital products and consumer-facing brands
- 6+ years’ experience within highly collaborative creative teams, on the product side or in consultancy
- Experience working closely with multidisciplinary product teams comprised of researchers, designers, product managers and engineers
- Proficiency with modern UI design and prototyping tools, such as Figma, Protopie, Adobe CS, AE, 3D animation tools, and Rive
- Experience designing digital experiences for key touchpoints across the customer journey
- Experience developing brand guidelines and/or standards for user interfaces, including color, typography, iconography, imagery, and GUI elements
- Experience developing digital services and bringing products or services to market
- Experience mentoring and/or managing others in visual design
- Strong verbal, written, and visual presentation skills
- Passion for brand and digital product design
- Passion for the automotive and transportation industry
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
