About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support delivery of PR campaigns for D&AD Awards, Festival, Learn programmes, research, events and partnerships
  • Research and identify journalists, publications, podcasts, broadcasters and media opportunities across UK and international markets
  • Build, update and maintain media lists and contact databases
  • Support day-to-day operation of the D&AD press office and coordinate media enquiries
  • Conduct media outreach and follow-ups and build journalist relationships
  • Draft press releases, media pitches, briefing documents and communications materials
  • Coordinate press assets, interviews, media attendance and accreditation
  • Monitor and log media coverage and industry news
  • Produce PR and communications reporting covering coverage, reach and sentiment
  • Research industry conversations and media trends
  • Support external communications and thought-leadership activity
  • Develop research and briefing materials for interviews, opinion pieces and speaking engagements
  • Draft key messages, Q&As and external communications materials
  • Maintain communications and forward-planning calendars
  • Research creative and cultural influencers and coordinate outreach, campaigns, invitations and follow-ups
  • Support communications involving ambassadors, judges, trustees, speakers and alumni
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Social and Content teams on campaigns and initiatives
  • Contribute to content across D&AD channels
  • Maintain planning documents, databases, calendars and shared resources
  • Coordinate meetings, events and external communications activity
  • Manage communications administration including suppliers, invoices and purchase orders
  • Develop understanding of D&AD programmes, audiences and the wider creative industries

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Previous professional experience in PR, communications or a related role, either in-house or agency-side
  • Good understanding of media relations, including media research, building targeted media lists, pitching and journalist engagement
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience drafting communications materials
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Confident carrying out research and identifying relevant stories, trends and opportunities
  • Proactive, curious and comfortable taking ownership of tasks while knowing when to seek input or guidance
  • Confident communicating and building relationships with colleagues and external contacts
  • Good understanding of digital and social media platforms
  • Strong interest in the creative industries and the issues shaping advertising, design and creativity
  • Appropriate documentation proving eligibility to work in the UK
