About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Run and evolve Proxmox VE clusters and NetApp storage, including capacity, performance, upgrades, and lifecycle
  • Administer Entra ID and Azure Government in the GCC High tenant, plus Active Directory and Intune
  • Partner with Cybersecurity on identity policies and controls
  • Administer and harden Windows Server and Ubuntu/Debian systems
  • Perform patching, security baseline management, and compliance evidence collection
  • Design and deploy enterprise-scale infrastructure across Forterra sites
  • Collaborate with Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, and Development
  • Shape disaster recovery and business continuity for cloud and on-premises services
  • Operate Veeam and Proxmox Backup Server
  • Extend configuration-as-code practices using Ansible
  • Deploy infrastructure at new sites and travel approximately 5% for site deployments
  • Participate in a shared after-hours rotation with rare call-outs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Hands-on Windows Server administration, including patching, hardening, and compliance
  • Hands-on Linux administration with Ubuntu/Debian, ideally in a virtualization context
  • Production experience running on-prem virtualization such as Proxmox, VMware, Hyper-V, or similar
  • Strong Entra ID and Azure experience, plus Active Directory and Intune
  • Experience designing and deploying infrastructure at enterprise scale, ideally across multiple sites
  • Ability to document infrastructure and hand off cleanly so the team can operate it
  • Genuine curiosity and ability to operate across a broad, evolving infrastructure stack
  • Clear communication, sound triage judgment, and ability to distill complex problems into actionable components
  • Experience or familiarity with GCC High or Azure Government is advantageous
  • Proxmox VE or NetApp administration experience is advantageous
  • Production Ansible or equivalent configuration-as-code experience is advantageous
  • Enterprise networking exposure, including Palo Alto, Juniper, or SD-WAN, is advantageous
  • Defense, government contracting, or regulated-industry background is advantageous
  • May require eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
