About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze calculation requirements and define appropriate methodologies for sizing and design problems
- Build and use finite element models in Abaqus
- Perform linear and nonlinear calculations for static, dynamic, and fatigue analyses
- Study the behavior of structures and components subjected to mechanical, thermal, or vibratory loads
- Define calculation assumptions, boundary conditions, loads, and design criteria
- Analyze simulation results, identify safety margins, and propose design optimizations
- Contribute to the sizing and substantiation of parts, assemblies, and mechanical structures
- Correlate simulation results with test results when necessary
- Prepare calculation notes, substantiation reports, and related technical documentation
- Participate in design reviews and present results to project teams and clients
- Verify that analyses comply with applicable specifications, standards, and procedures
- Contribute to resolving technical issues during development, industrialization, or production phases
- Collaborate with design, materials, testing, methods, industrialization, and production teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree or equivalent (Bac+5) in mechanical engineering, mechanics, structural analysis, materials engineering, or a related field
- Ideally, experience in mechanical analysis and numerical simulation within an engineering consultancy or industrial environment
- Experience in the aerospace, space, automotive, or defense sectors is preferred
- Strong knowledge of finite element analysis and mechanical structural analysis
- Proficiency with Abaqus, particularly Abaqus/CAE and Abaqus/Standard or Abaqus/Explicit
- Knowledge of linear and nonlinear, static, dynamic, and thermomechanical analyses
- Knowledge of material modeling, constitutive laws, and failure criteria
- Proficiency in defining loads, boundary conditions, and calculation assumptions
- Ability to analyze and interpret simulation results
- Knowledge of continuum mechanics, strength of materials, and mechanical design and sizing
- Ability to prepare calculation notes and technical substantiation reports
- Python programming or post-processing automation is an additional advantage
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to take a broader perspective on results
- Technical curiosity and ability to work as part of a team
- Professional proficiency in English is valued depending on the project
