About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide comprehensive relationship management support to Retirement Plan Advisors
- Serve as an internal ERISA and 401(k) expert, advising on DOL, IRS, PBGC, and other regulatory standards
- Research and analyze complex ERISA-related issues and explain them to advisors and clients
- Assist with 401(k) plan documents, amendments, and regulatory filings
- Support advisors in explaining fiduciary responsibilities, investment options, fee structures, and withdrawal strategies
- Act as a trusted contact for retirement plan and 401(k) clients
- Prepare data, reports, and customized proposals for client meetings
- Identify client needs and opportunities and help develop tailored retirement plan solutions
- Coordinate communication between field advisors and internal departments
- Support onboarding of new retirement plan clients and ensure documentation is complete and compliant
- Respond to client inquiries regarding plan administration and participant questions
- Maintain accurate client and plan records in Salesforce CRM
- Prepare client-facing materials and presentations
- Diagnose issues and provide client-driven solutions meeting IRS regulatory requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- 2–5 years of experience working with retirement plans, particularly 401(k) plans, in a client-facing, compliance, or administrative capacity
- Experience supporting advisors and/or clients in a retirement plan or financial services environment
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency with CRM systems; Salesforce preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- ASPPA, CEBS, QKA, or other designations related to 401(k) plan administration or ERISA compliance are a plus
- Must reside in the EST timezone
