About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide personal care and home management tasks to clients requesting and eligible for caregiver services under the direction of an RN
  • Perform tasks delegated and directed by the registered nurse
  • Assist with activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living
  • Assist with ambulation, transfers, exercises, bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, and incontinence care
  • Perform housekeeping and meal preparation
  • Provide safe transportation, medication reminders, and pet care
  • Maintain order, safety, and cleanliness of the client area
  • Communicate changes in client condition or occurrences to the registered nurse
  • Maintain chart documentation of care in accordance with the written plan of care
  • Practice safety and infection control methods
  • Use proper transfer, lifting, and body mechanics techniques
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of protected health information under HIPAA
  • Observe Universal Precautions, including handwashing and use of gloves and other PPE
  • Report to work on time, ready for the shift, and appropriately dressed
  • Demonstrate Four Seasons values and competencies
  • Participate in required orientation, ongoing education, and training
  • Practice professional boundaries, behaviors, communication, and personal/environmental safety
  • Perform other duties assigned by the registered nurse, Office Manager, or Director

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Caregiving experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance
  • Practice within the scope of training, license, certification, or registration, where applicable and as required by law and regulation
  • Knowledge and application of proper body mechanics
  • Knowledge and application of infection control principles and environmental safety
  • Excellent organization, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Ability to take initiative and utilize innovative techniques and ingenuity
  • Ability to interact with various departments throughout the organization
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Ability to participate as a team player to coordinate projects
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply policies, best practices, laws, rules, and regulations
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements, including walking, standing, sitting, bending, reaching, twisting, crouching/squatting, kneeling, arm/wrist flexion and extension, and hand dexterity
  • Ability to assist with transfers/repositioning when assigned to a hands-on client
  • Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs when assigned to a hands-on client
  • Ability to complete required orientation and ongoing training
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy of PHI under HIPAA requirements
  • Ability to observe Universal Precautions and use required PPE
