About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead teams of consultants and deliver consultancy and systems engineering projects in Digital Building technologies, applications, processes, and standards
- Deliver consultancy and engineering services in accordance with proposals, scopes of work, and engagement letters
- Define project scopes, objectives, and deliverables with clients and internal teams
- Set priorities, allocate resources, and ensure seamless project execution
- Understand and develop customer requirements and business objectives
- Build and manage positive client stakeholder relationships
- Translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights for non-technical audiences
- Provide technical oversight, professional guidance, and coaching to junior consultants
- Develop technical strategy, management, and governance frameworks for digital solutions
- Act as subject matter expert for technical deliveries and lead end-to-end project execution
- Build, mentor, and lead a team of engineers
- Support and advise on Digital Building systems integration, technologies, initiatives, solutions, processes, and standards
- Design Digital Building systems and architectures
- Review systems architectures and designs, identify issues, and suggest improvements
- Produce service delivery, technical, and project-related reports
- Develop and implement standards, best practices, and guidelines for Digital Building technologies
- Maintain comprehensive project and program documentation
- Ensure digital building solutions comply with OT/IT cybersecurity standards, regulatory requirements, and risk management protocols
- Represent FPC professionally and achieve high customer satisfaction
- Communicate with colleagues and contribute to the development of the Digital Building Services team and FPC business
- Report to the line manager and manage own workload, escalating issues as needed
- Identify potential revenue opportunities and support business development activities
- Identify, develop, deliver, and support continuous improvement opportunities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience developing coordinated designs, including client requirements gathering and documentation, technical submittal creation/review, and SoW and specification development
- Strong technical expertise in Digital Building technologies
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices
- Understanding of IP networking, including IPv4, IPv6, switching, routing, DHCP, WiFi, and structured cabling
- Experience with system audits and on-site surveys
- Minimum 10 years of Digital Building and IoT industry experience
- Proven track record in Digital Building-related roles, such as Consultant, Subject Matter Expert, or Technical Project Manager
- Required Bachelor's or Master's degree in Controls, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Effective stakeholder, program management, and communication skills
- Competence using Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office software applications
- Experience or qualifications in IoT systems design, delivery, and operation is desirable
- Experience with cloud platforms and data analytics is desirable
- Experience with AutoCAD, BIM, or Visio is desirable
- Knowledge of RIBA/AIA Stages of Work or international equivalents is desirable
- Experience with construction projects and contracting is desirable
- Experience with systems testing and commissioning, FDD, and automated commissioning systems is desirable
