About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, modify, develop, write, and implement software applications from detailed programming specifications
  • Participate in software testing through test review and analysis, test witnessing, and certification
  • Support and/or install software applications and operating systems
  • Manage installation and configuration of complex third-party applications
  • Resolve fundamental problems and identify opportunities that improve customer, user, or provider satisfaction
  • Explain the financial impact of solutions or decisions to help customers comply with budget requirements
  • Potentially own a specific application, including operational and strategic leadership, software design, technical leadership, and coordination with IT, vendors, consultants, subcontractors, and customers
  • Provide guidance to less experienced Software Engineers
  • Provide primary DBA support to a 24x7 MES environment
  • Implement planned upgrades and improvements to MES
  • Lead technology project teams in the manufacturing space

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience
  • Advanced knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures in the area of specialization
  • Understanding of network protocols and application deployment across environments
  • Proficiency with PC-based applications such as MS Office
  • Proficiency with programming tools such as C++, C#, Visual Basic, ASP, JAVA, PL Sequel, and WEB 2.0
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve fundamental technical issues
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management
  • Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships and collaborate within a team environment
  • Ability to change priorities quickly, confront issues directly, and work well as part of a team
  • Offers are contingent on background check and drug screen, where applicable
