Key responsibilities & impact

Own the workflow engine, including scheduling, batching, idempotency, cancelling, and retrying runs
Build and harden integrations with dozens of data providers
Manage rate limits, concurrency, failures, and cost per call
Improve observability and alerting so failures are visible and inexpensive to fix
Track cost per run
Scale Postgres and Redis as volume grows
Use coding agents heavily and exercise judgment over their output
Shape how the platform is built as one of the first engineers

What you’ll need

Experience building job systems, queues, or data pipelines that ran in production at real volume
Reliability and cost treated as product features
Pragmatic and autonomous working style
Bonus: Effect or functional TypeScript
Bonus: High-volume data infrastructure experience
Bonus: Early-stage startup experience
Proficiency with TypeScript and Effect
Experience with Postgres and Redis
Experience with React, Vite, TanStack, and ElectricSQL sync
Must be based in the San Francisco Bay Area, open to relocating, or open to working from this region
Must address United States work authorization/visa sponsorship requirements
