About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review vacant FHA and VA loans before foreclosure sale for advance disposition decisioning
  • Review newly vacant FHA post-sale properties managed through the conveyance process
  • Gather required information and enter it into a Disposition Model to estimate financial gain or loss
  • Recommend resolutions to maximize and accelerate fund recovery
  • Review investor/insurer claims paid on properties moved into REO and validate model logic
  • Provide feedback on Disposition Model updates based on corporate initiatives, investor/insurer guidelines, trends, and other circumstances
  • Research charge-off requests and reasons
  • Develop written charge-off recommendations
  • Present charge-off and low-balance loan recommendations to Default leadership for approval
  • Submit charge-off recommendations to investors according to guidelines
  • Process charge-offs or approved outcomes in systems of record
  • Research and analyze high-risk circumstances and their impacts on borrowers, Freedom Mortgage, investors/insurers, and default timelines
  • Manage high-risk circumstances promptly to mitigate losses
  • Determine and monitor effective recovery strategies when applicable
  • Prepare chronologies and recommendations for Default leadership
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Graduate/GED required
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of related experience
  • Strong understanding of FHA, VA and GSE claims guidelines
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Microsoft Office experience and advanced Excel knowledge
  • Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • No licensing, certification, or registration required
