About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide support to technologies used in Corporate Mine Operations, including Command Center and Remote Operations environments
  • Instruct other technicians in problem diagnosis, troubleshooting techniques, and repair procedures
  • Provide network infrastructure support focused on data communication systems, mining technology, reliability, monitoring and production systems, network clients, and 2-way radios
  • Provide second-level end-user support by responding to Help Desk requests and assisting users with common issues
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct mine technology problems; escalate complex issues to senior staff or specialized teams to minimize downtime
  • Support installation and basic maintenance of IT hardware for fleet management, safety systems, operational support equipment, network clients, and 2-way radios
  • Perform preventative maintenance on supported technology and associated hardware while maintaining accurate documentation
  • Maintain technical knowledge of supported hardware and software
  • Follow approved procedures for hardware and software deployment, installations, updates, and configurations
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures and support activity records
  • Provide peer assistance and share knowledge with team members, including helping new staff understand procedures and support processes
  • Perform other duties as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Four (4) years of experience in supporting and maintaining onboard technologies in mining or similar industrial environments AND one technical certification relevant to the role; OR six (6) years of such experience
  • Must be customer service-oriented and possess good organizational skills
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts and scheduled and unscheduled overtime as business dictates
  • Advanced knowledge of technologies and processes used in the role
  • Experience mentoring/training other team members and owning role-related tasks
  • Proficiency in problem solving and integrity/dependability
  • Functional skills in communication, teamwork, influence/persuasion, self-management, driving for results, flexibility, confidence/stress tolerance, maturation/commitment, client partnership/focus, process improvement/quality, business acumen, organizational awareness, leadership of people, visionary leadership, operations, client support, solution implementation, and security
  • Nominal skill in planning/project management, design/engineering, and requirements analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions, follow safety practices, and recognize hazards
  • Ability to be on an on-call support rotation preferred
  • May be required to work a non-standard schedule, including shift work, in a 24/7/365 operation
  • CompTIA Network+ or equivalent certification preferred
  • Rajant, Cisco or similar network certification
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Associate’s degree in information technology or related field preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS/IT related field preferred
  • Mandatory pre-employment drug testing as allowed by applicable laws
