About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead a portfolio of environmental projects, managing project teams, technical deliverables, schedules, budgets and resources while maintaining strong client relationships
  • Provide technical leadership in water quality and stormwater compliance, including NPDES, MS4, construction and industrial programs
  • Provide technical leadership in environmental site assessments, subsurface investigations and risk-based environmental cleanups
  • Lead complex environmental studies and investigations, evaluate data, develop technical reports and present findings and recommendations
  • Guide environmental permitting and regulatory compliance activities, evaluate regulations, address compliance issues and recommend solutions and corrective actions
  • Lead QA/QC reviews of environmental reports, technical analyses and project deliverables
  • Direct and mentor multidisciplinary project teams, coordinate assignments, support staff development and oversee subcontractors performing field investigations, sampling and related technical activities
  • Build and maintain client relationships through communication, technical guidance and project coordination
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, regulatory agencies and other stakeholders
  • Lead development of scopes of work, fee estimates, proposals and statements of qualifications
  • Identify opportunities to improve environmental processes, technical methods and project delivery

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, biology, geology, urban planning, GIS, archaeology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 8+ years of relevant environmental experience
  • Experience conducting and leading environmental investigations, analyzing technical data, preparing and reviewing environmental reports, and presenting technical findings and recommendations
  • Experience coordinating projects, working with multidisciplinary teams, communicating with clients and regulatory agencies, and providing technical guidance to project staff
  • Proficiency with field data collection and mapping tools, including Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Global Positioning System (GPS) technology
  • Ability to travel to project sites and perform fieldwork that may involve inclement weather, strenuous conditions and lifting more than 50 pounds
  • Preferred: Master's degree in environmental science, geology, biology or a related field
  • Preferred: Professional certification or licensure in an appropriate environmental or geoscience discipline
  • Preferred: Experience with Clean Water Act regulatory programs, NPDES permitting, SPCC requirements, MS4 program administration, SWPPP development and compliance reporting
  • Preferred: Experience with Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, EPA Brownfields projects, Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality risk-based corrective action requirements, Oklahoma Corporation Commission petroleum storage tank processes or related professional certification
  • Preferred: Experience with surface water quality standards, TMDLs, environmental monitoring, soil boring and monitoring well investigations, BMPs, corrective actions and technical quality reviews
