About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as Construction Manager overseeing transportation infrastructure projects
  • Supervise inspectors and construction managers assigned to projects
  • Coordinate assigned work to ensure continuity, consistency, and quality
  • Collaborate with design teams on RFIs, submittals, and construction issues
  • Supervise observation and inspection of construction work, including material sampling and testing
  • Review contractor work for compliance with contract documents
  • Oversee change/field orders, schedules, submittals, RFIs, claims, pay requests, construction meetings, and closeout
  • Define tasks for others and provide supervision, review, and approval
  • Prepare recommendations, conclusions, and final reports
  • Schedule and evaluate project decisions for impacts on schedule, budget, and project needs
  • Maintain schedules and communicate project activities, needs, problems, and requests
  • Prepare and facilitate construction meetings, including agendas and minutes
  • Read plans and specifications to ensure construction compliance
  • Monitor regulations and technological advancements
  • Serve as Project Manager for large, complex projects when needed
  • Communicate with owners, contractors, consultants, regulatory agencies, and engineering firms
  • Conduct pre-construction conferences
  • Support design-phase processes and project risk management, including constructability reviews
  • Participate in contract administration, interpretation, and implementation
  • Support sales and marketing and business development efforts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8+ years experience within the construction and design industry, including specific experience in making independent decisions on engineering problems and methods
  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Oklahoma Professional Engineer Registration
  • Understanding of Alternate Project Delivery Methods
  • Preferred: ODOT/OTA Resident Engineer experience for Transportation Projects
  • Preferred: Certified Construction Manager Certification
