Biomedical Technician
Fresenius Medical Care. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair dialysis equipment, ancillary equipment, and water treatment systems .
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair dialysis equipment, ancillary equipment, and water treatment systems
- Maintain the physical plant as directed
- Ensure outside vendor services are completed according to contract
- Purchase and retain an inventory of service parts
- Perform, evaluate, and report water/dialysate sample collection and required actions
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly trend analysis on the water system
- Document all repairs and maintenance activity
- Assist in planning and installing biomedical equipment
- Transport equipment as needed with supervisor consent
- Participate in monthly technical and regulatory meetings
- Collaborate with facility staff to meet regulatory and OSHA requirements
- Manage inventory, receive and store deliveries, conduct inventory counts, transport goods between clinics, and assist with inventory costs
- Verify and monitor patient care staff’s water-system testing techniques and documentation
- Complete required technical training programs
- Provide scheduled after-hours technical on-call coverage
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or G.E.D. required
- Valid Driver's License issued in the employee’s state of residence required
- Successful completion of Fresenius Biomedical Technician training within the first 24 months of service required for continued employment
- Less than 1-year related experience
- Manual dexterity and ability to use common hand tools and small power equipment
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and safely move large/bulky equipment
- Ability to create a safe and efficient work environment using OSHA, 6S, and Infection Control practices
- Ability to pass the Ishihara's Color Blindness test as a condition of employment, with reasonable accommodations considered
- Availability for evening, weekend, and holiday work
- Prior experience in a mechanical, automotive, construction, dialysis, or medical technical setting preferred but not required
- Associate Degree in electronics / biomedical technology preferred but not required
