About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair dialysis equipment, ancillary equipment, and water treatment systems
  • Maintain the physical plant as directed
  • Ensure outside vendor services are completed according to contract
  • Purchase and retain an inventory of service parts
  • Perform, evaluate, and report water/dialysate sample collection and required actions
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly trend analysis on the water system
  • Document all repairs and maintenance activity
  • Assist in planning and installing biomedical equipment
  • Transport equipment as needed with supervisor consent
  • Participate in monthly technical and regulatory meetings
  • Collaborate with facility staff to meet regulatory and OSHA requirements
  • Manage inventory, including receiving deliveries, inventory counts, transporting goods between clinics, and assisting with inventory costs
  • Verify and monitor patient care staff’s water-system testing techniques and documentation
  • Complete required technical training programs
  • Provide scheduled after-hour technical on-call coverage for assigned clinics

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required
  • Valid Driver's License issued in the employee’s state of residence required
  • Successful completion of Fresenius Biomedical Technician training within the first 24 months of service required for continued employment
  • Less than 1-year related experience
  • Prior experience working in a mechanical, automotive, or construction industry, dialysis, or medical technical setting preferred but not required
  • Manual dexterity and ability to use common hand tools and small power equipment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and safely move large/bulky equipment
  • Ability to create a safe and efficient work environment using OSHA, 6S, and Infection Control practices
  • Ability to pass the Ishihara's Color Blindness test as a condition of employment, with reasonable accommodations considered
  • Availability for evening, weekend, and holiday work
  • Ability to take scheduled after-hour technical on-call coverage as needed
  • Ability to work around chemicals, infectious materials, high-voltage equipment, and various outdoor elements
  • Ability to complete technical training programs required by state/federal regulations and company policy
