About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage distribution operations for several countries worldwide from various Central Distribution Centers, including Biebesheim, Gernsheim, St. Wendel, Andrézieux in France, and Komenda in Slovenia
  • Create transport orders for assigned countries and notify and commission freight forwarders
  • Handle the entire transport process and prepare the required shipping documents
  • Ensure the timely delivery of goods to the respective destination
  • Provide advice and coordinate transport arrangements and contracts with international hubs
  • Select suitable modes of transport and calculate freight costs at the individual order level
  • Review orders for compliance with legal and country-specific requirements
  • Serve as the point of contact for country organizations regarding operational processes and related activities
  • Record and process complaints and manage returns
  • Review freight forwarder invoices and record them in the system

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Completed commercial training, ideally as a freight forwarding and logistics services clerk, or an equivalent qualification
  • Several years of professional experience in international logistics, particularly in shipping operations, import/export, or transport management
  • Ideally, professional experience in the medical technology sector, preferably in international shipping and distribution of medical products; alternatively, experience in the pharmaceutical industry or a comparable regulated sector
  • Good knowledge of country-specific shipping, customs, and export regulations
  • Knowledge of handling dangerous goods is an advantage
  • Knowledge of or training in air freight security is desirable
  • Good knowledge of MS Office and practical experience using SAP
  • Good written and spoken German and English
  • Structured, independent, and reliable working style, strong communication skills, and enthusiasm for working with international contacts
  • Ideally, residence within reasonable proximity to the respective work location and willingness to travel to the workplace regularly
