About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the organisation, delivery and follow-up of debates, including drafting event proposals, invitations and programmes
- Contact speakers and prepare moderator briefings and reading materials
- Register and assist participants, draft and send evaluation questionnaires, and provide on-site support
- Research speakers, authors, themes and background information for debates and articles
- Contribute to programme content, event planning and publication/article requests
- Assist with meetings and administrative tasks, including correspondence, logistics, documentation and report writing
- Develop and maintain databases, including data entry and mailing-list creation
- Research and write briefings on EU and global policy challenges
- Engage in work across the organisation and support the team as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Recently finished studying and eager to acquire a first work experience
- Demonstrable knowledge of and interest in EU policy and public affairs, particularly climate, energy and natural resources, through a relevant degree or equivalent experience / self-learning
- Research skills combined with good analytical ability
- Fluency in spoken and written English; other languages are an asset
- Excellent writing skills
- Knowledge of social media and information platforms to gather key content
- Ability to work independently and within a multicultural team
- Highly motivated, hands-on and well-organised
- ‘Can do’ / ‘solution-oriented’ mentality
- Able to connect different policy areas
- Able to meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
- Able to work in a multicultural team and with minimum supervision
- Particular interest in working for a think tank
- Interest in event organisation
- Flexibility to work occasional morning, evening and weekend events
- Open to nationals of EU/EEA member states or Switzerland, and non-EU nationals with the right to work in Belgium already
