About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, and customize ETL pipelines in data warehouse environments within the financial and banking sector
Contribute to migration and replacement projects for existing DWH/ETL solutions
Plan and conduct technical regression tests
Develop new concepts for test and production environments and for handling test data, preferably using automated processes
Analyze and resolve technical discrepancies
Support the conversion and harmonization of data formats and character encodings
Collaborate with other teams to meet schedule and budget requirements
Work closely with banking-sector clients on-site
Develop scalable data and analytics platforms
Automate processes and ensure robust, traceable data quality
Advise and provide technical support to clients on business and technical challenges

Requirements

What you’ll need

Completed university degree or solid vocational training in computer science
Experience and knowledge in software and ETL development
Several years of experience with ETL software, ideally in banking or financial services
Excellent understanding of data warehouse architectures and structures
Excellent knowledge of designing and implementing ETL processes in relational DWH architectures
Excellent SQL skills with common database systems, such as DB2, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and SAP HANA
Practical experience with Informatica PowerCenter or comparable ETL tools is preferred
Several years of experience in Java development
Experience with migration and replacement projects in the DWH environment
Experience planning and implementing technical regression tests and data comparisons
Strong consulting and communication skills
Excellent command of German, both written and spoken
Experience with converting data and character encodings or similar technical transformation projects is an advantage
Experience with agile working methods (SCRUM/Kanban)
Analytical thinking, conceptual skills, and excellent comprehension abilities
Solution-oriented approach and ability to work independently
Flexibility, willingness to work autonomously, high self-motivation, and strong commitment to quality
