About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and modernize full-stack applications in regulated environments such as banking and insurance
Design backend services, APIs, frontend components, and robust interfaces
Help shape event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka or comparable technologies
Ensure scalability, performance, security, and an excellent user experience
Support DevOps activities such as CI/CD, deployment, containerization, and infrastructure as code
Work in an agile environment and contribute ideas
Ensure code quality through testing, code reviews, and documentation
Use modern AI tools thoughtfully and responsibly throughout the development process
Work with clients in the banking and insurance sectors to build secure, scalable, and user-friendly software solutions
Serve as a technical point of contact for clients

Requirements

What you’ll need

Degree or solid vocational training in computer science or a related field
Professional experience in software development
Strong Java development skills, ideally with Java 17 or Java 21
Experience with Java 11 is helpful in migration or legacy contexts
Very good knowledge of Spring, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and modern backend architectures
Experience with event streaming, messaging, or event-driven architectures, ideally with Apache Kafka
Frontend experience with React, Angular, or Vue.js, as well as TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
Practical experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, IBM DB2, or comparable systems
Ideally, experience with agile development, cloud technologies, containerization, Kubernetes, and CI/CD
Kotlin, Bash, infrastructure as code, observability, and experience with security or regulatory requirements in financial services are a plus
Knowledge of the banking, insurance, or financial services sector is an advantage but not required
