About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as an essential member of the patient-centered healthcare team
- Help patients feel at ease throughout their visit
- Collaborate with providers throughout patient visits
- Maintain Basic Life Support certification
- Cross-train and float as needed to provide services across sites
- Support optimal clinic operations
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED required
- For Medical Assistant: completion of an MA program, EMT-Basic course, MA Apprentice program, or on-the-job MA training plus one year of healthcare experience
- For Medical Assistant Senior: one year of experience as a medical assistant or in the field of the credential held required
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) or AHA-approved equivalent required within 90 days of hire
- For Medical Assistant Senior: one of Military Medic/Corpsman training, approved medical assistant certification/registration, Certified Paramedic, Advanced EMT, accredited LPN program with current active LPN license, or other certification from an approved body
- Military Medic/Corpsman candidates must obtain an approved certification or license within 6 months of hire
- Remain compliant with all organization educational, licensure, or certification requirements
- Compensation may be based on active certification or licensure
- Drug-free workplace and pre-employment substance abuse testing
- Medical Assistant: one year of healthcare experience preferred
