About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct regular inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm and sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA standards, local codes, and client requirements
  • Identify, document, and report system deficiencies and malfunctions, including recommendations for necessary repairs or upgrades
  • Ensure all systems comply with state, federal, and local fire and life safety regulations
  • Communicate inspection results and maintenance needs or corrective actions to clients
  • Prepare and submit detailed inspection reports, including test results, corrective actions, and code compliance issues
  • Collaborate with service technicians and team members to address identified issues and ensure timely resolution
  • Stay current on industry trends, codes, and regulatory changes
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fire alarm and sprinkler system manufacturers, models, and functionality
  • Follow company safety policies and procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment
  • Travel to multiple client sites, up to 40%

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in fire alarm and sprinkler system inspection or maintenance
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 25, NFPA 72, and local building/fire codes
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Self-motivated and able to manage workload and schedule independently
  • Flexibility for occasional after-hours or weekend work based on client needs
  • Ability to move around construction sites and walk on uneven ground
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Capable of climbing ladders, working in confined spaces and at various heights
  • Work both indoors and outdoors, often in changing weather conditions
  • Regular use of PPE and adherence to OSHA safety requirements
