About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the security of information systems used in defense missions
- Perform Defensive Cyber Operations for Space (DCO-S)
- Provide expertise and support in network security engineering and/or integration of security products
- Maintain the operational security posture for assigned IT systems
- Implement and enforce AF cybersecurity policies, procedures, and countermeasures
- Complete and maintain required cybersecurity certification in accordance with AFMAN 17-1303
- Ensure users have requisite security clearances and need-to-know, complete annual cybersecurity training, and understand access responsibilities
- Maintain authorized user access control documentation
- Ensure software, hardware, and firmware comply with security configuration guidelines, including STIGs/SRGs
- Ensure configuration management procedures are followed before implementation and required approvals are obtained
- Coordinate changes with the system-level ISSM, SCA, and/or Wing Cybersecurity office
- Initiate protective or corrective measures when security incidents or vulnerabilities are discovered
- Report security incidents and vulnerabilities according to AFI 17-203
- Initiate exceptions, deviations, or waivers to cybersecurity requirements
- Travel up to 10%
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI access required
- U.S. citizenship required
- Security+ (Sec+) certification required
- 6+ years of relevant experience
- Experience working with DoD and/or Intelligence Community (IC) space system acquisition programs
- Understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and DoD / IC cybersecurity requirements, policies and best practices
- Experience with IT security requirements, architecture and design
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, Engineering, Mathematics or a related technical field is desired
