About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead all aspects of mechanical scope, including pre-site mobilization, site mobilization, commissioning, and project turnover
  • Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, construction, electrical, controls, general contractor, manufacturing, and onsite installation teams
  • Manage project schedules, milestones, deliverables, budgets, invoicing, forecasts, and cost tracking
  • Ensure mechanical systems align with design intent, specifications, owner requirements, and data center performance standards
  • Oversee subcontractor agreements, purchase orders, and change management processes
  • Identify and mitigate cost and schedule risks; drive value engineering and recovery plans
  • Act as primary contact for mechanical trades, vendors, owners, inspectors, design teams, and other stakeholders
  • Coordinate commissioning activities and ensure mechanical commissioning documentation is complete
  • Support BIM/VDC coordination, clash resolution, and design integration
  • Partner with superintendents to ensure mechanical installations meet quality and safety standards
  • Monitor field progress, productivity, manpower planning, daily Takt progress, deviations, and remediation plans
  • Support development of a site-specific mechanical quality plan
  • Develop manufacturing and execution plans integrating mechanical scope into the master schedule
  • Lead weekly coordination meetings and progress reviews
  • Promote and enforce safety culture and project-specific safety plans
  • Monitor field activities and report safety concerns
  • Provide regular updates on progress, risks, and performance metrics
  • Support commissioning, testing, and final system turnover to the client
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 4+ years of experience managing mechanical scopes on large-scale construction projects
  • Proven experience with mission-critical or data center projects strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, chilled water systems, and data center cooling strategies
  • Demonstrated success managing subcontractors, project schedules, and budgets
  • Ability to travel 50%
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday
  • Successful completion of a background check and drug test
  • Must comply with company policies, site safety plans, regulatory requirements, applicable codes, specifications, and commissioning requirements
