About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Forecast costs for potential field projects
  • Independently review specifications and documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates
  • Attend job site walk-throughs as necessary
  • Organize bid components for accuracy and completeness
  • Perform takeoffs on screen and from drawings, including circuiting and scaling drawings and counting devices and equipment
  • Consult with clients, vendors, foremen/superintendents, and project managers to formulate estimates
  • Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors regarding changes and adjustments to cost estimates
  • Finalize and follow up on completed bids
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical training, OR completion of an Electrical Apprenticeship Program (or equivalent work experience, 8,000 hours)
  • 2 to 4 years of electrical estimating experience
  • Proficient in the use of a PC and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in Trimble Enterprise preferred
  • Willingness to travel 5-10%
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday between 7 AM and 5 PM
  • Ability to work overtime when required
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Successful completion of a background and drug test
  • Electrical takeoff, circuiting, scaling drawings, counting devices and equipment experience
