About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform mechanical design for power system products under the supervision of an upper-level Engineer or Engineering Team Leader
  • Provide guidance to Level 1 Engineers and Designers
  • Convert prototype designs into commercially viable mechanical systems
  • Perform detailed calculations for system cooling requirements
  • Confer with internal and external customers about existing or potential product designs
  • Ensure designs comply with specifications, codes, and customer requirements
  • Inspect completed installations for conformance to design and equipment specifications
  • Compile data and write reports on engineering studies and projects
  • Contribute to technical manuals
  • Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 3 years of progressive engineering related experience, or Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Technology and 6 years of progressive engineering related experience
  • Proficient use of a PC and Microsoft Office Suite
  • SolidWorks knowledge required
  • Willingness/ability to work onsite in Monroe, Louisiana
  • Ability to relocate for 3 months of onsite training at a WI, KS, IN, or TX facility
  • Ability to work between 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday–Friday, with flexibility to work any day or time as business needs require
  • Travel 5–10%
  • Successful completion of a background check and drug test
  • Ability to perform the position’s essential functions and additional assigned duties
