About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide general management of electrical and/or specialty systems QAQC and Commissioning scopes of work
  • Manage commissioning and startup schedules
  • Develop QAQC/Cx scope, schedule, and budget
  • Review outgoing QAQC/Cx estimates with the Estimating Department for accuracy
  • Utilize internal functional groups and monitor project deliverables
  • Develop QAQC/Cx safety plans and coordinate with safety departments for client approval
  • Coordinate with the construction project manager to execute safe, compliant startup and operational procedures
  • Coordinate day-to-day startup and commissioning activities with clients and affected parties
  • Lead daily, weekly, and monthly QAQC/Commissioning, equipment, coordination, scheduling, staffing, and project manager meetings
  • Manage QAQC/Cx issue logs and coordinate mitigation and resolution
  • Coordinate with third-party testing/commissioning agencies during commissioning and startup
  • Partner with Human Resources on recruiting, selection, employee relations, and related matters for direct reports
  • Coach and develop managerial talent; select and train team members
  • Create a supportive environment, motivate and instruct employees, and provide constructive feedback
  • Promote positive company culture and constructive employee relations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent technical training/experience
  • 5 years of Project Management, Construction Management, Project Engineering, or Commissioning Management experience
  • 8 years of commissioning/start-up experience for electrical and/or mechanical systems
  • Experience leading commissioning/start-up activities for construction projects exceeding $25MM in contract value strongly preferred
  • Proficient in the use of a PC and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficient in the use of Google G-Suite
  • Knowledge of the electrical construction trade preferred
  • Relevant industry experience may include Mission Critical, Industrial, and Commercial
  • Willingness to travel up to 100%
  • Ability to work Monday–Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with work at any time on any day of the week as business needs require
  • Employment contingent upon successfully passing a background and drug test
