About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Generate business and manage electrical and/or specialty systems construction projects
  • Oversee staff and ensure Project Managers perform effectively
  • Coordinate materials with the Purchasing Department and vendors
  • Identify and generate new business; network and maintain customer relationships
  • Plan, organize, staff, and oversee electrical construction projects
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, productively, on time, with high quality, and according to customer expectations
  • Attend staffing, project manager, sales, and other weekly and monthly meetings
  • Participate in field leadership performance reviews with the Workforce Manager
  • Partner with the Talent Team on recruiting, selection, employee relations, and related topics
  • Review outgoing estimates with the Estimating Department for accuracy
  • Conduct fair and timely employee performance evaluations
  • Visit job sites and interact with crews, customers, foremen, and general contractors
  • Delegate effectively and maintain accountability and decision-making controls
  • Coach, develop, select, and train managerial talent
  • Evaluate and hold managers accountable for managerial performance
  • Manage boundaries and workflow between organizational units
  • Convey functional and business strategies and the corporate mission
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration and create a supportive environment
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical training
  • Alternatively, 5 years of experience in the electrical trade and 1 year of electrical estimating experience
  • 1 year of electrical estimating experience
  • Proficient use of a PC and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of Accubid and AutoCAD preferred
  • Knowledge of the electrical construction trade preferred
  • Willingness to travel 15–20%
  • Ability to work Monday–Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., and at any time on any day as needed by business requirements
  • Successful completion of a background check and drug test
