About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Generate business and establish, maintain, and develop customer relationships
- Provide general management of electrical and/or specialty systems construction projects
- Oversee staff and ensure Project Managers perform their responsibilities effectively
- Coordinate materials with the Purchasing Department and vendors
- Participate in planning, organizing, staffing, and execution of electrical construction projects
- Ensure projects are completed safely, productively, on time, with high quality, and according to customer expectations
- Attend weekly and monthly meetings
- Participate in performance reviews for field leadership
- Partner with the Talent Team on recruiting, selection, and employee relations
- Review outgoing estimates for accuracy
- Conduct job-site visits and interact with crews, customers, foremen, and general contractors
- Delegate effectively and maintain accountability and control systems
- Coach, develop, select, and train managerial talent
- Manage cross-functional workflows and recommend process improvements
- Convey functional strategies, business strategies, and corporate mission
- Foster constructive employee relations and cross-functional collaboration
- Provide supportive coaching and constructive feedback
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical training
- 1 year of electrical estimating experience OR 5 years of experience in the electrical trade and 1 year of electrical estimating experience
- Proficiency in the use of a PC and Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of Accubid and AutoCAD preferred
- Knowledge of the electrical construction trade preferred
- Willingness to travel 15–20%
- Ability to work typical hours between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday–Friday, with work at any time on any day as business needs require
- Employment contingent upon successfully passing a background and drug test
