About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the successful development, procurement, delivery and operation of education infrastructure projects across Wales
  • Coordinate project activities throughout the lifecycle, from design development and planning through construction, commissioning and operational handover
  • Help manage project programmes
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement activities
  • Support procurement and approvals processes
  • Monitor project performance
  • Contribute to risk management and governance
  • Work across WEPCo and dedicated project companies delivering individual schemes
  • Collaborate with contractors, consultants, local authorities, Welsh Government representatives, funding partners and independent advisors
  • Support multiple projects at varying stages of development and construction simultaneously
  • Report to the Project Director and work closely with the wider WEPCo team
  • Complete a Profiling Assessment as part of the interview process

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience supporting the development, design, construction or delivery of infrastructure or built environment projects
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, including programme management, risk management and stakeholder coordination
  • Knowledge of construction processes, building fabric and health and safety legislation, including CDM regulations
  • Ability to build effective relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, public sector bodies and delivery partners
  • Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Construction, Engineering, Surveying, Project Management, Property or a related discipline
  • Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle for business travel
  • Experience within construction, infrastructure development, technical consultancy or the built environment
  • Knowledge of project and programme management, risk management, reporting and budget monitoring
  • Good understanding of construction processes and health and safety requirements
  • Experience with PPP/PFI environments, social infrastructure projects, facilities management or BIM-enabled projects is advantageous but not essential
