About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical support for all types of engagements
  • Prepare compilation financial statements and corporate tax returns
  • Perform full-cycle bookkeeping, including adjusting journal entries, bank reconciliations, depreciation calculations, income tax accruals, and inter-company account reconciliations
  • Perform moderately complex investment bookkeeping, including portfolios, dividends, capital gains, and related T3 and T5 work
  • Process payroll using internet-based payroll service providers such as Payweb, Ceridian, and ADP
  • Prepare T1, T2, and T3 tax returns and T4, T5, HST, EHT, and WSIB regulatory forms
  • Draft correspondence related to client engagements
  • Coordinate with clients to gather information and answer questions
  • Assist with bookkeeping, payroll, banking and finance relationships, management reporting, government filings, and general business advice

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of one year of tax experience working in a public accounting firm
  • Proficient in Caseware/Caseview and TaxPrep
  • Investment bookkeeping experience
  • Proficient in QuickBooks, Word, and Excel
  • Highly computer literate overall
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Strong commitment to quality
  • Solid understanding of business professionalism
