About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own every file from submission to funding
  • Intake submissions from brokers and direct merchants and check applications, bank statements, and identification for completeness
  • Chase missing documents
  • Package files for underwriting
  • Clear conditions to fund, including voided checks, proof of ownership, driver licenses, landlord or mortgage verification, tax returns, payoff letters, and underwriter stipulations
  • Verify bank logins, business entities and good standing, ownership matches, OFAC screening, and identities
  • Identify altered statements, mismatched ownership, and other fraud signals and escalate them
  • Prepare and send contracts for signature
  • Review executed documents and correct errors
  • Run funding calls with merchants and confirm terms, payment amounts, and schedules
  • File UCC financing statements and set up payment schedules with servicers or payment processors
  • Release wires and confirm receipt
  • Send broker and merchant funding confirmations
  • Maintain statuses, conditions, notes, and documents in the system of record
  • Coordinate payoffs and balance letters on renewals and consolidations
  • Work with product and engineering to automate repeatable workflow tasks
  • Report to the Managing Director
  • Meet speed-to-fund and accuracy targets while minimizing files returned with problems

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be based in Utah: Salt Lake City, Provo, Orem, Lehi, Draper, or anywhere along the Wasatch Front
  • Two to four years processing, closing, or funding small business loans, lines of credit, or merchant cash advances at a lender
  • Experience at Bluevine, OnDeck, or a comparable online small business lender is strongly preferred
  • Experience working a high-volume queue with same-day funding targets
  • Comfortable reading business bank statements well enough to spot discrepancies with the application
  • Working knowledge of business entity documents, UCC filings, and know-your-customer and know-your-business checks
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Clear, quick communication with brokers and merchants by phone and email
  • Ability to stay organized while managing thirty open files
  • Experience with electronic signature tools, Salesforce or a similar system of record, and bank verification tools is nice to have
  • Experience on the broker-facing side is nice to have
  • Exposure to collections or servicing is nice to have
