Assistant Director, Generation Courage – Youth Programs and Partnerships

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Generation Courage youth programs and partnerships
- Translate the museum’s education strategy into youth programs, partnerships, and learning experiences
- Manage youth-facing programs including the Youth Advisory Council, FIERCE Girls, and Undergraduate Internship
- Design and launch new programs and partnerships with young people and community partners
- Align youth programming with exhibitions, campaigns, educational resources, and events
- Manage program workplans, timelines, budgets, grant deliverables, and implementation resources
- Collect feedback, evaluate outcomes, and iterate programs for quality, reach, and impact
- Supervise and support youth participants in on-site and virtual programming
- Design recruitment and onboarding systems and create youth leadership pathways
- Cultivate relationships with schools, colleges, universities, community organizations, funders, and local leaders
- Implement child safeguarding practices, mandated reporting protocols, and youth safety procedures
- Support fundraising opportunities, grant proposals, funder updates, reports, donor briefings, and fundraising events
- Track program outcomes, participant feedback, youth stories, and evidence of impact
- Report to the Managing Director of Education
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in education, youth development, nonprofit programming, community engagement, philanthropy, or a related field, including experience designing and implementing programs
- Experience working across K-12 education, postsecondary education, community-based organizations, philanthropy, and other youth-serving institutions
- Significant experience working directly with young people and building relationships with diverse youth, educators, school administrators, community partners, and organizational leaders
- Deep understanding of positive youth development, healing-centered engagement, social-emotional learning, and youth leadership development
- Experience building and sustaining partnerships among organizations and individuals with different priorities, perspectives, and ways of working
- Experience supporting fundraising-related activities, including grant proposals, funder reports, donor stewardship, philanthropic partnerships, or program impact materials
- Ability to translate program work into funder-facing language, including goals, outcomes, budgets, participant stories, and evaluation findings
- Comfort participating in meetings or presentations with funders, donors, community partners, and other external stakeholders
- Proven project management, organizational, and analytic skills, including experience administering grant-funded programs, budgets, timelines, and deliverables
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, planning, collaboration, and ability to maintain high-quality work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
- Master’s degree in Education, Youth Development, or related field required
- Fluency in Spanish preferred
