Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead custom digital projects from initial discovery to handover
  • Manage 1–2 concurrent projects with end-to-end accountability
  • Keep scope, timelines, forecasts, and profitability on track
  • Own project financials and contractual baselines
  • Maintain forecasts covering EAC, staffing mix, and utilization
  • Reconstruct facts and steer execution when projects are struggling
  • Facilitate steering groups and identify scope creep early
  • Negotiate change requests and balance client value with contract realities
  • Partner with client stakeholders from development leads through director and C-level decision-makers
  • Create psychological safety and clarity for cross-functional teams
  • Shield delivery teams from external friction
  • Contribute to Delivery Excellence by identifying systemic delivery risks and challenging optimistic assumptions
  • Mentor peers in governance and forecasting

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5–10 years of IT consulting project management experience with proven end-to-end delivery
  • Hands-on experience driving multiple shorter-cycle projects to successful completion
  • Proven track record owning project P&L, milestones, delivery costs, billable rates, and Estimate at Completion (EAC) across various pricing models
  • Experience stepping into high-friction or struggling deliveries, re-establishing governance, and turning around commercial or delivery drift
  • Ability to clarify decision authority and formalize contract amendments while maintaining customer partnerships
  • Solid understanding of modern custom software delivery, cloud setups, integrations, and agile multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to navigate different client cultures and industries and adapt to various tooling stacks
  • Fluent professional working proficiency in Finnish and English, written and spoken
  • Recognized project management certification such as IPMA, PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent is a plus
  • Domain experience in finance, the public sector, or regulated/security-sensitive environments is a plus
  • Experience mentoring project managers, managing escalations, or running portfolio health checks is a plus
  • Practical familiarity with AI tools and automation is a plus
  • Pragmatic understanding of Agile frameworks including Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe is a plus
