Key responsibilities & impact

Take technical ownership of a high-impact, customer-facing product used by major companies, central banks and non-governmental organisations
Take responsibility for the quality of code and architecture delivered by the team
Influence and coach team engineers
Align the team on goals, outcomes and timelines
Collaborate with Product and Technology teams to translate the strategic roadmap into actionable tasks
Provide visibility on delivery progress outside the team
Design, develop, test, maintain and enhance Golang microservices and frontend applications
Deliver performant, componentised interfaces driven by the design system
Improve service and application performance and observability
Improve team and business quality of life through automation, process improvement and new technologies
Collect, process, verify and serve large amounts of cross-border payments data for informed business decisions
Interact with stakeholders across the business

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience writing Golang services and web application backends and deploying them in Docker containers
Experience writing performant SQL
Experience building componentised frontends in React/TypeScript
Understanding of clean code principles and TypeScript and Go idioms
Experience reviewing code and establishing team quality standards
Ability to learn and engage with a new business domain and product
Ability to communicate complex topics to technical and non-technical people
Experience or interest in AI technologies
Experience with concurrent logic such as goroutines, CI/CD pipelines, GitLab CI, observability tools, Prometheus, Grafana, AI tools, MaterialUI, Airflow, Python, or Terraform is helpful but not essential
Tech stack familiarity: Golang, TypeScript, React, MaterialUI, MariaDB, ClickHouse, GitLab, AWS, SQL
Candidates must be based in the Mexico City region for periodic in-person meet-ups
Candidates must refrain from using AI tools during interviews or technical tasks unless explicitly instructed
