About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, test, maintain and enhance Golang microservices and frontend applications
Deliver performant, componentised interfaces driven by the company design system
Improve the performance and observability of services and applications
Improve team and business quality of life through automation, process improvement or new technologies
Collect, process and verify large amounts of financial data describing cross-border payments
Serve financial data to users so they can make informed business decisions
Interact with stakeholders across the business and the immediate team
Work in a technical team of approximately 30 technologists, typically in teams of around three engineers and a Product Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experience writing Golang services and web app backends
Experience deploying applications in Docker containers
Experience building componentised application frontends in React/TypeScript
Ability to write performant SQL
Understanding of clean code principles and TypeScript and Go idioms
Ability to review code and establish team quality standards
Ability to learn and engage with a new business domain and product
Ability to communicate complex topics to peers
Ability to discuss how you learn and improve your skills
Based in the Bogotá, Colombia region
Periodic in-person meet-ups required
Independent contractor arrangement
Desirable: concurrent logic/goroutines, CI/CD pipelines (especially GitLab CI), observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana, AI productivity tools, MaterialUI, Airflow, Python or Terraform
