About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assemble, troubleshoot, connect and test electronic assemblies of basic to moderate complexity
- Assemble junction boxes, electronic controls and other assemblies according to mechanical and electrical drawings
- Install and test completed electronic assemblies
- Act as an inspector for final electronics checkout
- Interact with manufacturing to ensure proper installation and testing of completed electronic assemblies
- Participate in wiring diagram and interconnect drawing reviews
- Troubleshoot electronic assemblies for production and aftermarket support
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
- Use equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
- Contribute to team efforts by training others in moderately complex electronic assembly tasks as needed
- Inspect all work before passing it to the next operation
- Complete production and quality forms
- Perform continuous standing and walking, frequent bending/stooping, squatting/kneeling, lifting and frequent variable hand/power-tool use
- Perform two-person tasks using assistive lifting, pulling and pushing devices
Requirements
What you’ll need- Able to safely use small hand and power tools
- Able to read and interpret drawings and Bills of Material
- Basic computer skills
- Working knowledge of wiring diagrams, interconnect drawings, ladder logic, schematics and Gerber files
- Able to bench troubleshoot wiring and discrete circuits using schematics and Gerber files
- Knowledgeable in the usage of multimeters and power supplies
- Attention to detail; able to work independently and follow written procedures
- Able to assist with training new employees on basic to moderate testing tasks
- High School diploma, GED, or combination of work experience and skill development
- Able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English
- Ability to perform the listed medium-heavy physical demands, including lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling
- Ideally, an Associate’s degree in Electronics Engineering Technology, Electronics or another electronics-related discipline, or equivalent combination of work/military experience and skill development
- Ideally, 1–2 years in an electronics technician capacity
