About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Affix external components on the switch
- Pick and assemble required parts according to drawings
- Perform vacuum and fill processes according to specifications
- Maintain leak test equipment
- Test fully pressurized switchgear for leaks
- Set up reclaim process as needed
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Conserve equipment and supplies while accomplishing job results
- Train others in testing tasks as needed
- Inspect all work before passing it to the next operation
- Complete production and quality forms
- Communicate effectively with others at various organizational levels
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma, GED or combination of work experience and skill development
- Ideally 0-1 year experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Able to safely use small hand and power tools
- Good organization skills and ability to multi-task a variety of simultaneous processes
- Able to read and interpret Drawings and Bills of Material (preferred)
- Basic computer skills
- Able to read instructions and understand verbal instructions in English
- Able to meet medium-heavy physical demand requirements, including lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling specified weights
- Able to perform continuous standing and walking, frequent bending/stooping and squatting/kneeling
- Able to perform continuous gripping, manipulation and fingering
- Able to perform frequent variable hand/power tool use
- Able to perform two-person tasks using assistive devices for lifting, pulling and pushing
- Must comply with applicable safety procedures, rules and regulations
