About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Set up and operate one or two pieces of moderately complex manufacturing machinery
- Use hand tools as necessary when setting up and operating machinery
- Select the correct pattern for each order
- Prepare molds for drawing patterns
- Repair damage to mold impressions in sand as necessary
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations
- Train others in machine operator tasks as needed
- Inspect work for defects before passing it to the next operation
- Complete production and quality forms
- Report production quantities and times for each work order
- Report worn pattern equipment to supervisors
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma, GED or combination of work experience and skill development required
- 6+ months experience working in a manufacturing environment desirable
- Must be able to safely use small hand and power tools
- Must be able to read and interpret work instructions
- Must be able to effectively communicate with supervisor regarding manufacturing processes
- Must have ability to operate a variety of machinery
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs occasionally from floor to waist with assistance
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs frequently from floor to chest
- Ability to carry up to 40 lbs occasionally up to 25 feet
- Ability to stand, walk, bend/stoop, squat/kneel, and lift continuously
- Frequent to continuous gripping, manipulation, and fingering
- Frequent variable hand/power tool use
- Ability to perform two-person lifting tasks using assistive devices
- Must meet applicable work authorization requirements; G&W Electric participates in E-Verify for all new hires
