About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform repetitive sub-assembly and/or assembly operations of basic complexity
- Prepare work by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists
- Gather parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials
- Position parts and subassemblies using templates or measurements
- Assemble components, examine connections for correct fit, and fasten parts and subassemblies
- Assist with building prototypes and other basic assembly projects outside normal production as needed
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment in accordance with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed
- Contribute to team efforts by training others in basic assembly tasks as needed
- Inspect all work and ensure it meets requirements before passing it to the next operation
- Complete production and quality forms
- Assist in training new hires or internal employees newly assigned to the role
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma, GED or combination of work experience and skill development
- Ideally 0-1 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Must be able to safely use small hand and power tools
- Must be able to read and interpret Drawings and Bills of Material
- Must have basic computer skills
- Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English
- Willingness to cross-train and develop skills for Manufacturing Associate II roles, which may involve respirator fit and clean-shaven requirements
- Ability to meet Medium - Heavy Physical Demand Level requirements, including lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling loads
- Ability to perform continuous standing and walking, frequent bending/stooping, squatting/kneeling, and lifting
- Ability to perform gripping, manipulation, and fingering continuously
- Ability to use hand and power tools frequently
- Ability to perform two-person tasks using assistive lifting, pulling, and pushing devices
- Must comply with applicable employment authorization requirements; G&W Electric participates in E-Verify
