About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Load and unload parts or products onto fixtures
Prepare components for powder coating, including washing and electrochemical cleaning
Apply powder coating using guns, hoppers, and booth systems
Operate coating equipment and observe gauges to detect defects
Perform visual inspections to determine material flow and coating quality
Bake and cure parts at appropriate temperatures within time limitations
Ensure components are coated efficiently and meet company quality goals
Clean and perform daily maintenance on equipment
Maintain a safe and clean working environment
Use equipment and supplies efficiently
Train others in powder coat operation tasks as needed
Inspect completed work before passing it to the next operation
Complete production and quality forms
Communicate effectively with others at various organizational levels
Perform hand abrasive blasting as required

Requirements

What you’ll need

Able to safely use small hand and power tools
Able to read and interpret drawings and Bills of Material
Basic computer skills
Able to work in a fast-paced environment and coordinate work with other team members
Able to effectively communicate and understand job instructions verbally and in writing
Able to communicate instructions clearly, professionally, and respectfully
Demonstrated ability to work independently without constant supervision
High School diploma, GED or combination of work experience and skill development
Must understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English
1-2 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment (ideally)
1-2 years’ experience working as a painter or powder coat operator (ideally)
Must remain medically cleared to wear respirator equipment
Must be able to perform medium-heavy physical work, including lifting up to 75 pounds occasionally with assistance
Must be able to perform continuous standing and walking, frequent bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and lifting
Must be able to perform continuous gripping, manipulation, and fingering
Must be able to use hand and power tools frequently
Must perform two-person lifting, pulling, and pushing tasks using assistive devices as needed
