About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive revenue growth and market penetration for G&W Electric's medium-voltage switchgear and Power Grid Automation solutions
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans across assigned territories and market segments
  • Direct and energize sales forces, Territory Managers, and Representatives to identify and qualify automation opportunities
  • Develop account plans for strategic customers and national consultants
  • Own the customer engagement cycle from discovery and qualification through contract negotiation and close
  • Engage electrical consultants, EPCs, developers, and end users during project planning and design
  • Lead in-person and virtual solution design discussions
  • Recommend G&W solutions tailored to customer technical and commercial needs
  • Collaborate with application engineering and automation engineering teams on targeted proposals
  • Support project kickoffs and handoffs to project management teams
  • Present technical briefings, white papers, application guides, and presentations
  • Maintain knowledge of G&W products, power system automation technologies, industry trends, and competitors
  • Support trade shows, lunch-and-learns, and industry conferences
  • Provide customer feedback, market intelligence, and competitive insights to product management and influence product roadmaps

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline required; MBA preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in power grid automation engineering, power system communication, technical solution sales, or field application engineering within electric utility, power distribution, or related industries
  • Demonstrated success in a customer-facing role with ability to close technical solution opportunities or implement complex solutions
  • Knowledge of electrical power systems and distribution networks, including medium voltage switchgear, distribution automation, SCADA, ADMS, protection and control schemes, and automated switchgear solutions
  • Understanding of DNP3, Modbus, IEC 61850, RTUs, IEDs, and Ethernet communication mediums
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Creativity and problem-solving skills in technical applications and customer relations
  • Ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with utilities, industrial facilities, engineering firms, contractors, and data centers
  • Self-starter with strong time management skills and ability to balance multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and standard business software
  • Ability to travel extensively, up to 50% of the time
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States, as indicated by participation in E-Verify for all new hires
