About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop, maintain, and improve all aspects of G&W Electric’s quality program for production operations
  • Manage process-control and improvement methods to ensure products meet standards
  • Design experiments to identify sources of product and process variation
  • Apply statistical process control methods for data analysis
  • Manage and resolve customer quality issues
  • Collaborate with supplier quality teams on quality problems, corrective actions, and supplier improvement programs
  • Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and short- and long-term corrective actions
  • Participate in engineering design reviews and recommend improvements to quality and manufacturability, especially PFMEA
  • Use FMEA to identify and mitigate potential process and product failure modes
  • Perform operational Material Review Board walks and consolidate failure data
  • Manage Non-Conformance Reports and corrective actions
  • Implement root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions using the 8D methodology
  • Investigate first-pass-yield failures and prevent recurrence
  • Ensure containment activities for discovered non-conformances
  • Participate in cross-functional High Impact Project teams
  • Report quality issues, performance metrics, and status updates to management and department teams
  • Communicate with engineering, suppliers, and operations regarding issues and process improvements
  • Conduct internal audits based on ISO 9001 standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Chemical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
  • 3–5 years experience
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and standards, including ISO 9001, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing
  • Proven experience with root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques
  • Excellent analytical and data interpretation skills
  • Proficient in using quality management software and tools
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality
  • Certification in quality engineering, such as CQE, Six Sigma Green Belt, or Black Belt, ideally
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and advanced quality planning (AQP), ideally
  • Familiarity with industry-specific quality standards and regulations, ideally
  • Plant operations or issue resolution experience preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Light lifting of 25 lbs. or less occasionally
  • Ability to stoop and stand
  • Must comply with employment eligibility verification requirements; G&W Electric participates in E-Verify
