About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead a Maintenance Team in daily tasks, projects, work orders, and preventive maintenance for production, the building, and grounds
  • Report to the Senior Maintenance & Facility Manager
  • Provide hands-on leadership and communicate daily goals, performance, and team member assignments
  • Assist with supervisory tasks and employee performance evaluations
  • Perform or assign preventive maintenance and work order functions
  • Perform safety sweeps and employee training, including TWI
  • Ensure the safety of team members and others affected by maintenance activities
  • Assist in resolving maintenance equipment repair issues
  • Control and source maintenance tools, equipment, and spare parts
  • Support an efficient maintenance operation that meets operational and customer demand and targets
  • Participate in and/or manage maintenance projects
  • Organize daily work schedules and delegate tasks
  • Perform hands-on labor to maintain efficient workflow and on-time completion
  • Support continuous improvement projects and lean initiatives
  • Manage on-site contractors to ensure compliance with G&W safety, environmental, legal, and company requirements
  • Locate equipment parts and coordinate ordering with the maintenance clerk
  • Manage the spare parts cage and maintain critical parts availability
  • Perform other duties as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3-5 years’ experience performing work in a proven industrial maintenance environment, specifically with mechanical and electrical/electronic equipment
  • Ability to work under pressure and deal with stress and/or emergency situations effectively
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and coordinate activities within a department comprised of diverse tasks and demanding schedules
  • Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and schematics
  • Intermediate computer skills in MS Word and Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve, including use of corrective and preventive actions
  • Experience using a CMMS preferred
  • Experience leading a team preferred
  • College degree completed or in process preferred
