About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assess employees' physical and psychosocial health status through history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing
- Identify health problems and determine the need for nursing intervention, consultation, and referral
- Monitor and manage stabilized chronic conditions
- Train employees in self-management of health problems
- Investigate the quality and quantity of provided health care for policy adherence
- Provide nursing care for complex occupational illnesses and injuries, including emergency care and referrals
- Maintain employee medical records and track hazardous-environment exposures and injuries
- Counsel employees on routine health subjects and provide referrals
- Participate in formulating health problem management policies, procedures, and protocols
- Coordinate with line management, safety and industrial hygienists, and human resources on medical claims and workplace injuries
- Plan and evaluate health education programs
- Maintain nursing record-keeping systems and ensure confidentiality and legal compliance
- Guide less experienced staff in delivering care according to nursing standards and company policies
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field preferred
- Nine or more years of nursing experience
- Experience with medical procedures and techniques
- Experience with emergency medical techniques such as cardiac pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid
- Experience working with company facilities
- Experience with case management practices
- Experience providing health education programs
- Communication skills
- Organization and time management skills
- Leadership skills to guide and mentor less experienced personnel
