About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Take ownership of assigned product experiences from discovery through implementation and iteration

  • Clarify requirements and scope with partners and use post-launch data to identify improvements
  • Participate in discovery, exploration, validation, delivery, design QA, and post-launch evaluation
  • Explore multiple approaches, explain design decisions, and manage assigned work while communicating risks and dependencies
  • Use approved AI tools for research synthesis, ideation, rapid prototyping, documentation, and quality review
  • Support implementation through organized files, clear specifications, developer walkthroughs, collaboration, and design QA
  • Share work early and regularly with design teams, cross-functional partners, and stakeholders
  • Communicate assumptions, questions, tradeoffs, risks, next steps, and changes
  • Participate in critiques, workshops, team initiatives, and shared learning opportunities
  • Share findings, patterns, templates, and AI-assisted workflows
  • Provide thoughtful feedback during critiques and project reviews
  • Support less-experienced designers and seek coaching from Senior and Lead Designers
  • Identify and support design-led improvements within the assigned product area
  • Practice authentic communication, constructive negotiation, and impeccable coordination

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong knowledge of layout, typography, color, visual hierarchy, responsive design, and platform conventions
  • Experience creating accessible and inclusive designs
  • Knowledge of information architecture, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and interaction specifications
  • Ability to use research, analytics, feedback, and testing to support decisions and validate solutions
  • Experience with design systems, components, patterns, and reusable design documentation
  • Understanding of product vision, audiences, business goals, success measures, technical feasibility, and constraints
  • Participation in discovery, exploration, validation, delivery, design QA, and post-launch evaluation
  • Strong proficiency in Figma, including components, variables, prototypes, shared libraries, and developer handoff
  • Ability to use ChatGPT and approved AI tools for research, ideation, writing, accessibility reviews, and documentation
  • Ability to use Codex and similar tools for functional prototypes, feasibility exploration, handoff, and design QA
  • Ability to verify AI-generated work for accuracy, accessibility, brand alignment, bias, technical feasibility, privacy, security, and intellectual property compliance
  • Strong written, verbal, visual, and presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with product, engineering, research, analytics, editorial, and business partners
  • Ability to provide feedback and support less-experienced designers
