About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics relationship from the C-suite down
  • Facilitate senior GE Aerospace leadership engagement to win business and deepen the partnership
  • Maintain understanding of the customer’s vision, business model, portfolio, regional market, competitors, and GE Aerospace priorities
  • Lead strategic account planning with LM Aero and GE Aerospace stakeholders
  • Define growth objectives, value propositions, and joint action plans
  • Align priorities across GE Aerospace P&Ls, Strategy & Business Development, and other functions
  • Represent the customer voice in capture teams
  • Lead pre-positioning of key opportunities and drive activities through formal campaigns
  • Engage in business issues, solve problems, and preserve customer relationships
  • Translate growth priorities into executable plans
  • Support executive engagement at tradeshows, conferences, summits, and executive management reviews
  • Source and synthesize competitive intelligence ethically
  • Travel approximately 15%–25% as required by the business

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in direct sales, business development, and/or account management within the Aviation or Defense industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience presenting strategies and complex information to peers and senior-level leadership
  • Strong customer mindset and ability to develop customer-focused strategies
  • Understanding of the Defense market, including airframer, competitor, and supplier positions
  • Working knowledge of Department of Defense budgeting and acquisition processes
  • Existing security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one
  • Ability to travel as required by the business
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and leadership skills
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems and lead complex programs or projects through execution
  • Strong business acumen, including financial considerations, business cases, and customer value propositions
  • Experience working directly with senior officials on security, defense, or commercial issues
  • Willingness to ideate on go-to-market strategy, new product developments, and customer and competitor changes
  • Ability to inform strategies with sales and customer or competitor engagement data
  • Alignment with GE Aerospace Behaviors and unyielding integrity
  • Ability to prove U.S. Person status for access to U.S. export-controlled information
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
