About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and analyze fluid delivery systems for hypersonic air-breathing propulsion and vehicle systems
- Design, analyze, test, and mature fluid system technologies supporting flight-ready hardware
- Perform research and development for next-generation aircraft engine and aerospace technologies
- Relate analytical results to experimental data in the design process
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers to design, analyze, and test fluid delivery systems
- Lead and participate in computational analyses using spreadsheet-based tools and multiphysics solvers
- Document and communicate assumptions, inputs, analysis methods, and proposed solutions for technical review
- Support validation through benchtop and larger-scale testing
- Prepare presentations and briefing materials on technical ideas, project status, and recommendations
- Work with Integrated Product Teams to develop and verify solutions meeting technical performance, cost, and schedule objectives
- Interact with industry partners and subcontractors to review analyses, concepts, and design approaches
- Apply technical judgment, build cross-team relationships, and explain technical information
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college OR a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in relevant job family group(s)/function(s)
- 0-3 years of experience in the design, analysis, and testing of fluid delivery systems
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and ability to apply them to technical tasks
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- U.S. citizenship required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance
- Willingness to work onsite in Bohemia, NY or Rockledge, FL
- Experience with bench testing of fluid system components for ground and flight-test hardware
- Experience with static and dynamic testing, including shock and vibration
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to document, plan, and execute programs
