About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the design of aircraft engines for commercial and military applications throughout their service life
- Gain exposure to engineering activities including design and analysis, hands-on engine component work, development and testing, life management, aerodynamic and thermodynamic design, performance, stress analysis, vibration analysis, engine testing, services engineering, engine controls, electrical design, and materials
- Participate in the University of Michigan x88 Model Based Systems Engineering program and M-SAGE project with a focus on MBSE
- Apply preferences, major, year of schooling, and business needs to placement decisions
- Build professional and technical skills in an engineering role
- Develop relationships with interns and leaders
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale without rounding
- US Citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance required
- Full-time matriculation in a nationally accredited baccalaureate or graduate engineering program, or equivalent
- Accepted degrees: Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering/Electrical & Computer Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
- Willingness and ability to work in the United States
- Reliable transportation
- Successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen
- Upperclassmen preferred
- Engineering aptitude and passion for aerospace technology
- Analytical approach to problem solving
- Strong knowledge of computer and Microsoft products
- Proficiency in at least one programming language
- Experience with Digital Engineering
- Strong communication, decision-making, and collaborative teamwork abilities
- Ability to prove U.S. Person status for access to U.S. export-controlled information
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
