About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as subject matter expert for investment accounting and reporting
  • Ensure proper controls are in place and operating effectively, and execute internal controls
  • Maintain tri-party reconciliations of investment positions to custodians and asset managers
  • Review and ensure timely clearing of open investment payables, receivables, and suspense transactions
  • Collaborate with internal investments and treasury teams
  • Communicate with third-party asset managers, custodians, and accounting providers
  • Prepare account reconciliations
  • Record manual journal entries
  • Prepare GAAP and statutory financials and financial disclosures
  • Communicate investment portfolio information to GE Aerospace, NALH senior management, and regulators
  • Fulfill external and internal audit requests
  • Support other controllership activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in accounting
  • Financial services industry and investments experience
  • Experience working with custodian banks and/or treasury functions
  • Proficient use of financial systems and MS Office
  • Strong problem identification and resolution skills
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
  • Certified Public Accountant, insurance industry experience, and public accounting experience are desired characteristics
