About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical leadership for structural investment castings across the value stream
  • Partner with suppliers and cross-functional teams to drive root-cause problem solving
  • Improve producibility and productivity and deliver business objectives
  • Own supplier technical relationships
  • Coach suppliers on GE Aerospace processes, specifications, and methods
  • Qualify and onboard new suppliers
  • Develop and industrialize alternate casting technologies
  • Advance world-class performance and standard work across the supply base
  • Lead structured, cross-functional problem-solving efforts and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions
  • Improve manufacturability through design-for-casting, specification clarity, and process capability improvements
  • Communicate progress, risks, challenges, and countermeasures to leadership and stakeholders
  • Review and approve significant/special processes, dimensional results, and metallurgical results
  • Ensure adherence to standards and qualification requirements
  • Collaborate with Quality and Design Engineering on new and changed processes
  • Partner with suppliers and internal teams to interpret drawings and specifications
  • Lead technical qualifications and readiness through Manufacturing and Quality Planning reviews
  • Support supplier Castings Audits
  • Attend in-person New Hire Orientation on Day 1
  • Travel to Cincinnati, Ohio multiple times during the first 6 months for onboarding and training
  • Travel 30%–50% to supplier sites and internal manufacturing locations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a technical field including Materials/Metallurgy, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or similar, or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of Casting Manufacturing experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Casting Manufacturing
  • Ability to travel 30–50%
  • Experience in Titanium and/or Nickel-based superalloy structural investment castings
  • Expertise across investment casting special processes, including wax, shell, melt/solidification control, heat treat, Welding, HIP, NDT, and specification compliance
  • Strong problem solving and project management skills
  • Experience with New Product Introduction, process capability assessments, and metallurgical evaluations
  • Experience maturing technologies and processes
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management; ability to influence without authority
  • Humble learner: respectful, receptive to feedback, agile, and continuously improving
  • Transparent communicator: shares critical information proactively and engages constructively to resolve issues
  • Focused and accountable; meets commitments and drives results against SQDC targets
  • Additively enabled casting processes
  • Proficiency with Siemens NX or comparable CAD
  • Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) experience
  • Ability to prove status as a U.S. Person for access to U.S. export-controlled information
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
